Late Hour License Moratorium Ordinance
On November 17, 2010, Alderman Waguespack introduced an ordinance that would prohibit the issuance of further late hour licenses to liquor establishments. Currently, there are 17 bars and clubs with late hours licenses, which allow them to be open until 4:00 a.m. during the week and 5:00 a.m. during the weekend. Regular liquor licenses require that an establishment close down by 2:00 a.m. during the week and 3:00 a.m. during the weekend. The passage of this ordinance will ensure that no future late hour licenses are issued in the 32nd Ward.
