In the wake of one of the most massive snow storms on record, ComEd crews have restored power to more than 182,000 affected customers. As of 8 a.m. 5,200 remain out of service. ComEd expects electric service to be restored for the vast majority of those remaining by mid-day Thursday.

The blizzard that swept through northern Illinois severely impacted ComEds electric system, ripping down power lines and damaging other equipment. More than 100 ComEd crews worked overnight, navigating icy roads, deep snow and road closures to repair the damage. This morning ComEd will mobilize an additional 270 crews.

Customers remaining without power should visit ComEd.com Storm Center or call 1-800-EDISON1 to report the outage. For updates on the storm restoration process, customers can visit ComEd.com Storm Center.
