The Cortland Street Bridge will be closed for structural repairs starting June 1st. One side of the sidewalk will remain open during the duration of the project and cyclists will be able to walk their bikes across the bridge. The repairs involve both the movable and fixed spans and involve deteriorated structural steel elements. As part of the work, sections of the roadway grating and sidewalks will be replaced. The Chicago Department of Transportation anticipates that the repairs will be complete by November 1st.

Detours for vehicles will be posted and the Route 73 Armitage and Route 132 Goose Island buses will be rerouted. Please see this link Cortland Bridge Information for additional details.
