2000 Block W Walton Water Main Replacement
Department of Water Management crews will be installing 700 feet of 8-inch water main in W Walton Street, from N Hoyne Avenue to N Damen Avenue. The old main dates back to 1891 and needs to be replaced. Work is scheduled to begin in April and the job should be completed in late May (restoration will follow in late June). This, of course, is an estimate. Sometimes there are unexpected developments in the street, or other circumstances (e.g. weather) that force adjustments to the schedule.
