Kingsbury Reconstruction
This summer the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) will be reconstructing Kingsbury between North and Scott. The project includes full reconstruction of the street, new curb and gutter, sidewalks, and street lighting. The existing rails in the street will be removed and will not be replaced, as the line rail has been officially abandoned. During the construction, Kingsbury will remain open to traffic and will be one-way southbound. Once the project is underway work will continue up to Thanksgiving 2011 when the street will reopen to two-way traffic. Construction of the new street will resume the next spring.
