Certain streets in the 32nd Ward restrict parking to neighborhood residents. Vehicles parking on these streets during specified hours are required to display a valid residential parking permit. Only residents of zoned streets and adjacent buffer zones are eligible to purchase parking permits. Buffer zones are streets that touch a street that has zoned parking; no exceptions. Businesses are not eligible to receive residential parking permits. Click here to check if you are eligible for a residential parking permit.

Annual Residential Parking Permits

The annual residential parking permit is printed directly onto the city sticker. Eligible residents have the option of having their permit zone number added when purchasing their city sticker. The regular cost of the zone permit at time of renewal is $25.00, added to the cost of your city sticker. Make sure when purchasing your city sticker you request the zone permit to be put on the city sticker.

If you are looking to buy an annual residential parking permit in tandem with a city sticker, click here for information on how to purchase a city sticker. You will need to provide proof that you reside in a residential parking permit zone. Always check that the proper zone number is printed on your city sticker.

If you currently have a city sticker and need to have a zone permit number added to it, you will need to visit the City Clerk’s office in person at one of the two following locations:

  • 121 N LaSalle Ave.
  • 5430 W Gale St.

You will need to remove your current sticker from your windshield and bring it in with your original receipt and proof of residence. You will be reissued a new city sticker with the zone number printed on it.

The 32nd Ward office does not sell the annual permits, nor are the replacement city stickers sold at the 2550 W Addison office or online.

Daily Residential Parking Passes

Daily passes are for guests of those living in a residential parking zone. The pass is valid for up to 24 hours from the date and time written on the permit.

Residents living in a zoned parking area can purchase up to 45 daily passes every 30 days. Daily passes are $8 for a set of 15.

Daily passes expire on December 31st each year. You can be ticketed if you use passes which are no longer valid.

Daily passes are available at the 32nd Ward office. The City Clerk’s office has instituted several new requirements for persons seeking to purchase daily passes. Please bring your Driver’s License, and a utility bill or lease if your license does not reflect your current address. We highly encourage you to bring an updated Driver’s License or State ID that reflects your current address as we are unable to update the City Clerk’s System. If you do not have an updated Driver’s License or State ID, it can impede our ability to sell you passes. If you do not have a customer code issued by the City Clerk’s Office and/or have not previously purchased daily residential permits the City Clerk has to issue a code to you prior to purchasing the passes. We can send the Clerk’s office your proof of address and request that they remotely issue a customer code, but this can only be done between 9AM and 4PM.

Per the City Clerk, you must pay with a credit card or debit card; we cannot accept cash.

You will be able to purchase daily passes online at the City Clerk’s website (here) if your Drivers License or State ID matches your current address. Please be aware that once you submit your order, you will not be able to purchase additional passes for 30 days. As it may take up to 10 business days for you to receive your passes in the mail, you should purchase them in person if you need them sooner.
